Canacone the once stout barbarian of tristram took on the epic quest to save mortal man and slay the Lord of Terror, Diablo! Canacone fought hard, but the Lord of Terror put up quite the fight. After killing Diablo Canacone pried the soul stone from atop his head, and smashed it with the back end of his ax, The Blood Cleaver. A flurry of dark spirits whirled out of the stone and dissipated into the air.

Canacone returned home to a feast, and was made the highest point of authority next to King. Canacone was wealthy, powerful, and mad, but no one, not even brave Canacone knew. He was possessed but the spirits of the stone. Years would go by as the spirits slowly maddened Canacone; driving him to unspeakable things. He led the Kings army into helpless towns ravaging, and ransacking them. Canacone had assumed the Name "Warlord Blood - The Black Baron". Warlord Blood was charged of treason and theft of the kings men. He was set to be hanged, but he  escaped the kings chamber, slaughtering all of the kings royal guard, and promised he would return one day for the kings head, and his crown.
